Well, I survived it. A field trip to Pittsburgh Zoo. I rode the bus down 3 Hours with 60 some kids and I road back 3 hours with those very same kids. I toured the Zoo with three kids in tow. Talk about a fun day. I tried to get some pictures of the animals but, it was so hard because every time I took a picture one of my kids would come up missing. I got as many pictures as I could. I had a headache by the time I got home. And it was so hot that day. but, boy was it worth it. We had so much fun. Here are some of my pics that I took.

A kodiak bear. All I could think about when I saw this bear was Charlie the dancing bear on Dr. Dolittle 2. "I will survive, as long as I know how to love I know I'll stay alive."

The elephants. I told my mom who went with us, that noone can say I was in the wild when I took this picture. How many big mechanical cranes are there in the wild? Anybody out there know?

You could hear this male lion groaning vlear through the zoo. I swear every turn I took I could hear him. It was Awseome.

And this was on our way home. A ferry boat on one of those rivers in Pittsburgh. I was on a bus on a double decker bridge. I told you it was fun!

Today I went to Philippi WV. They have a covered bridge that is two lanes wide. It is the site of the first land battle of the civil war. I tried to get some pictures. The bridge was so long it was hard to get the full length in one picture. I couldn't stand back far enough. We went to the museum across the bridge and heard all about the story of the bridge. We also had the oppurtunity to see two mummies. They are not wrapped. I took some pictures if anyone wants to see them send me a request. I didn't want to post them for fear of being called morbid. But the mummies were two women who were patients at the Weston State Hospital. The Weston State Hospital was a mental institution and when the women died they were left unclaimed so a man took them and embalmbed them with arsenic and another substance. I can't remember what it was. One woman was 22 when she died the other was 33. Here is a link to the story.

A little better shot. I still can't believe I have this much history in my back yard.

The end of the bridge.

This was a nice shot.

A little history if you can read it.

I went to Ohio to see my Aunt who is in failing health. She is beautiful. She is my spiritual mother. She is getting stronger day by day. I want to go back to see her this summer. I hope I am able. So while I was on my way up to Ohio, I made a pit stop at a hunters paradise called Cabela's. I got lots of pictures that I am going to post on here. Lots of animals. They are all "stuffed". I saw a huge catfish too! They had an aquarium in the store. The fish were alive. These fish were not "stuffed". But, I love to look at these pictures of animals I would never get to see ordinarily. I mean, it is not like I can walk out the front door and see an elephant walk by, or a lion. I hope that if you are an animal rights activist you won't hold it against me for posting these pictures. I am posting them because I enjoyed the experience and I want to share it.

I didn't take pictures of my aunt because she doesn't want to be photographed in her current condition. I think she is beautiful but she doesn't feel comfortable being photographed right now and I want to honor her wishes. Ok here we go. Pictures from Cabela's.

Smile for the camera!

This fish was huge! It was so weird how he was posing in that rock.

This was inside the store! A mountain inside! Amazing!

A moose going shopping!

I don't get to see one of these everyday! That background looks real!

Hey Cassie! Look out for that bear!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Here is Miah walking towards the tunnel. He looked so cute playing on the rails.

Miah begged us to take this picture. He says it looks like he is looking down on a little tunnel

My boys standing in front tof the tunnel.

The End
Here are some of the tunnel pictures I have been bragging on. I am sorry it took me so long to post them. This weekend was kinda crazy. I have more to post. I keep forgetting that you post them in backwards order. It is much easier that way. Otherwise you are trying to move them around manually to get them where you want them.

Here is the tunnell I was telling you all about. It is in the hills of West virginia.

I love this shot.
