Smokehole Caverns
After we got finished with Spruce Knob and Seneca Rocks, we decided to go onto smokehole caverns. Smokehole caverns were used by three different groups of people. The indians were the first to use it. They used the caverns to smoke the meat of the animals they killed for food. The other tribes saw the smoke coming from the "hole" and therefore named the caverns the smokehole. The next group of people to use the caverns were the civil war armies. And last but not least were the moonshiners. Lots of history around here. For more infromation check out their web site: http://smokehole.com/caverns.html
This is what is called a column. A stalctite
and a stalagmite that met in the middle.
This is what they called an artesian well that
flows over a flowstone dome. The water comes
out of the ground, or the top of this flowstone dome.
This is flowstone from where water has flowed
down the walls of the caverns.
This is called a ribbon stalactite.
It is the Worlds longest stalactite.
Seneca Rocks
Seneca Rocks looks like Giant rocks growing up out of the mountain. These pictures do not do them justice. People come from miles around to scale these rocks. Unforunately I have heard of some who have died trying to accomplish this feat.

One amazing view.
The cars in this picture give some perspective to the size of these rocks.
Spruce Knob
We went to Spruce Knob Saturday morning. As you can see by the sign, Spruce Knob is the highest point in West Virginia. It was a long drive. About an hour and a half. When we got there the wind was fierce. I wish we had an anomometer with us to measure the wind speed. And ohh was it cold! I mean it was beyond cold. I think your breath would freeze to your face if you blew against the wind. There were clear skies. It was absolutly beautiful. I love taking these long road trips and getting pictures. We also went to Seneca Rocks Saturday. I will post those pics later on. I really wish some of you were with me to see the beauty of our area. I didn't get very many pictures because the wind was so fierce and the air so cold. I plan to make another trip in the summer when the air is a bit warmer. Though I have a feeling that all the way up there it is going to be cold no matter what time of year it is.

The view is unbelievable. But it is COLD!
I forgot to mention the trees up here are one
sided because the wind is so fierce
More one sided pines.
One picture that I managed to get from the lookout tower.

Road Trip
We went on another road trip Sunday. We went for a rise up through the northern mountains of Upshur county. The temperatures were warm, and I wanted to jump in the stream so bad. Alas the water was like ice. Fall is in season here and the colors are starting to show. I thought I would share some of the beauty of our area with you.

I think this one looks like a post card.
Beautiful view.
This water looked so good Sunday.

Cassie got her feet wet.

At Work
I am at work again today. I have been thinking about Reese all morning wondering how her meeting with HIM went lastnight. But no updates on her blog or lj as of yet. I guess I will have to keep waiting.
So far this morning it has been very slow. I have had one customer and if luck has it I will get one while I am typing this entry.
I got up early this morning to get Cassie out of bed and wouldn't you know it, I got downstairs and heard her clock blaring and the decorative clock in the kitchen blaring its ships horn at the same time and Cassie was sleeping through it all. I took her clock still beeping and laid it on her ear. Would you believe she didn't even flinch? If Cassie had been awake there would have been a fight like none other. She is not a morning person much like me. And had she been awake that clock would have been stuck up my rearend. It took me touching her and moving her around a bit to wake her. It amazes me how deep a person can sleep sometimes.
Jeremiah has been doing very well at getting himself out of bed in the mornings. I gave him an alarm clock and he hears it most every morning. It is so wierd to not have to go in his room and stir him around to get him up and going. He has also been walking to the bus stop without me for a week or two now. That is different for me as well. I can see Jeremiah growing up and changing in so many different ways. I was looking at his marks on the measurement door this morning and stood there amazed at how much my little boy has grown and is still growing. we started measuring him on that door when he was one and in the first 3 months I swear he grew 6 inches. He has been growing about 4 inches a year for the last 3 years. So I can see that his height is starting to slow down some, but I can't help but wonder how tall is my little boy gonna get?

Not Much!
Not much going on. I have been working three to four days a week. And when I am not working I am busy with appointments for my kids or my mom. I have been so insanely busy it isn't funny. Oh my Gawd! I just remembered I haven't updated you guys on my nurse test! Well whoever reads this probably already knows anyway.
The letter reads as follows:
Dear Angela,
We regret to inform you that based on your test scores, and the number of applicants, you have not been selected to recieve an interview. We wish we could have interviewed everyone, but time does not permit it.
We hope that you will consider our school in the future. We will keep your current records on file for five years, but should you decide to reapply, you will need to complete a new application, with the application fee, and retake the test. Please call the school sometime next spring if you decide to reapply.
Your NET scores are listed below. The scores needed to preceed to the interview stage are as follows:
A composite percentage of 55 or greater, or a math and reading comprehension percentage of 65 or greater. this years average score (composite)was 56% (What does that mean?)
NET - Composite 50
NET - Math 49
NET - Comprehension 50
Thank you for applying to our school and we hope you will try again in the future.
That is it! I didn't make it! I am not disappointed. I am ok with it and have great peace about it. So no worries! My reapplying will depend on what life has to offer me in the next few months. I will update sooner next time!
