the sick day continues!

Well, my fever broke last night. I woke up feeling good as ever this morning, though burning up! After being freezing cold with a fever for over 12 hours, when my fever did break I felt so hot!

Cassie came home from her friends house sick as a dog. She has it too. Barking like a dog and stuffy nose, Fever. I took her to urgent care and while there had them do a strep swab on me as well. We both tested negative. Go figure!

So Miah got sick Tuesday evening. Darrell and I both woke up Thursday feeling a little strange (scratchy throats). Friday Darrell took a fever. He went ahead and drove bus. Saturday morning I woke up feeling a little worse but not too bad. I had to work Saturday. I went to work and was doing well until about 1:30. That is when the fever hit. I was setting there and I got chills. When I got off work we had to run to walmart to get some alka-seltzer (love that stuff). Miah was feeling better by then and wanted to walk around and look at toys. I on the other hand wanted to go home and go to bed. I ran a fever all evening. It ran between 101 and 102. I went to bed fully dressed freezing to death. I woke up in the middle of the night soaked in sweat and burning up. Hallelujah my fever broke! I have been fine most of the day. I still have sinus symptoms, runny/stuffy nose.

I am not sure when Cassie's fever started, but hers is gone now too. The fever with this bug runs about 12 to 18 hours and then it is gone. It lasts just long enough to let you know that you are flesh and blood and anything can happen and leaves just in time for you to enjoy a good day. We are all on the mend now. Will check back in soon!

Flu

Well, I have not had him to the doctors office as of yet, but I think my son has the flu. Symptoms include, Fever, cough, body aches, chills, fatigue, loss of appetite. He is not feeling very good at all. He scared the tar out of me earlier today. He was sleeping and all of a sudden came straight up off the couch out of a dead sleep and said he had to go somewhere and do something. He could not make whole sentences, he was mumbling and I could make out about every other word. He would look at me and give me the biggest silliest grin. Kinda goofy looking really. We were watching Sesame Street. I asked him what we were watching on the TV and he mumbled E.P., He finally did come around enough to say Sesame Street. It was very strange. Really freaky. Who knows maybe it was the fever talking. I asked him later on if he remembered any of it and he told me no. I think he may have been sleep walking. Now my prayer is that Cassie does not come down with it. That is the last thing she needs. This is the one year that she did not get the flu shot. Figures. Every other year we get the flu shot and no one gets it. I will update everyone later concerning the doctor appointment.

sick day

Hi all! I am taking a sick day today. My son went to bed last night with a fever of 102.8. He slept all night now trouble at all. He got up this morning feeling some better. Though as we speak he is asleep on the couch with another fever. Not as bad this time (100.1). I strongly encouraged him to take a nap. My daughter woke me very early this morning to let me know her blood sugar was high and she had moderate ketones. I decided then and there we were gonna have a sick day. We all slept in a little. The kids were up before me. I hate it when that happens. My son came in asking me to fix him breakfast. It was not even 8 o'clock yet. My daughter came in to tell me her blood sugar had come down and ketones were better as well. She fixed breakfast for her and her brother. I layed in bed til 8:45. I called the boss and got a machine. Left a message that I had two sick kids and would not make it to the store today. So there you have it a sick day.

I finally got the piano out of here yesterday. I was so nervous. The guys showed up right on time and had it all figured out. They came right in and lifted on it to see how heavy it was. They didn't seem to mind its weight. I tried lifting it and could not budge it. More power to them. They got it out the door and onto the trailer without doing too much damage. They did tear up the wooden steps on the front porch, but a small price to pay to have the piano removed. I got the living room and family room rearranged. I ran the sweeper 3 times yesterday trying to get all the dust and dirt cleaned up. By the end of the day I was one tired little girl. So a sick day for me is kinda nice. Hmmm, I feel like I need a snack. Better go find one.

Piano

Well, the day has come to say goodbye. I am finally getting rid of the piano I have had for a few years now. it is a huge upright grand that was made march 2nd of 1910. It is old and it is BIG. A family from my church got word that I had a piano to give away. They want to use it at their bed and breakfast for worship services. I am excited but saddened at the same time. I spent many hours at that piano playing praise songs and worshipping my Lord. I need my space back though. My living room is cramped as it is. I have my main heat vent blocked by furniture, and need to free it up. My son is mourning the loss of our beloved piano. He layed his head on it today and wept. It broke my heart. We are going to try to find another piano. Smaller, maybe electric. I am waiting on a parking spot to open up out front. If a spot does not open we will not be able to get the truck and trailer to the front porch to get this monster out of the house. For a while I was calling this piano the beast, til I realized that the devil is called the beast. One can hardly worship the Lord on the beast. For that matter the monster is not very pleasant either. Any ideas on a name for my huge instrument of praise? Well, I am off to check for a parking space.

A bit of a respite

I have not posted to this place for so long! oh my! I am so sorry to all those who try to read this blog. I know you are bogging down the servers trying to read it. I have to be honest in saying that I have found a new hobby. A new fix so to speak. I discovered Africam. The live feed african web cam. Amazing! Africam is a live streaming web cam in the middle of the African bush. You can see wild animals at all hours of the day. It is very neat! Addicting to say the least! I have also been watching Trucker cams, I am almost ashamed to say that I have been watching trucker cams. The volume is turned down most of the time. The cams are set up to look out the windows, so there is not anything "bad" to see. Not like they are naked truckers gone wild or anything like that. Gosh, I must be having some guilt. I am giving excuses to my blog. sheesh. I guess it is an issue because I waist so much time setting in front of this computer watching cams. I know it is a waste of time, but boy is it fun! The other issue with the trucker cams is they have a chat room. To watch the cams you have to enter the chat rooms. I am not chatting about anything bad, vulgar or anything like that. If anything I am trying to be a good witness in these chat rooms. I don't give out my personal info, email, address, anything like that. I am careful to not use my real name even. I talk to one guy about Diabetes, He is on insulin and my daughter is to, so we compare notes. See what works for him. Will it work for Cass? And he is in his 50's! Living somewhere in Pennsylvania! I don't know, you tell people you are chatting in chat rooms and they think the worst. I am aware. And am trying to be careful. Anyhow. I am going to post links to all this stuff and if you want to check out my new obsession then you can.
