NET

Well, today was exam day. I took the NET exam and I believe I did well. NET stands for Nurse Entrance Test. I studied and studied for this test only to find out I didn't need to study Science at all. I had studied physical science and life science. I got my test answer sheet and there was not a column for any kind of science on it anywhere. I was very disappointed and now wish I would have studied the math more than I did before. The subjects covered were math, reading speed, reading comprehension, life stresses, learning styles and test skills. I did fair on the math, I didn't get to finish the reading comprehension. :( *bummed* ):

I lied on the life stresses part. You know all the questions about how stressful your life is right now. Anyone pregnant in your household including yourself? Have you lost a loved one in your immediate family in the last month? Has your pet died in the last month? Is your marriage on the rocks? Has an immediate family member been diagnosed with a serious illness or disease in the last month? those types of questions. Those are not the questions I lied about though. I knew what the examiners were looking for. And I told them what they wanted to hear. Of course I have stress in my life! I have a 14 year old girl in the house! And a husband who has issues with her to boot! I have an 8 year old momma's boy! He is not going to like my busy life while in nursing school. My momma has been through the mill and back with reconstructive breast surgery. So YES I HAVE STRESS! Who doesn't?

The test skills part was very difficult, I don't think I did very well on that part at all. Like answer this question for me. If you have a multiple choice question and you don't know the answer you have to guess. Which answer is the most likely to be correct? A B C D? Now who knows the answer to that? I have no Clue!

Learning skills covered how you learn. Do you learn better by reading or being read to? Would you rather give an oral report or a written report? In a group project would you rather gather the resources and do the research or write the report? Do you do better in a study group or studying alone?

I am not sure how well I did. My mommy bought me the breast cancer awareness stethoscope I wanted for my nursing career. She is so precious! I have to get in now, even if I have to try every year! There were about 100 people who showed up for the class and only 30 get in with 10 alternates! I really need the Lords grace to get in this class. I will find out my test scores around the first of October. I will get a letter notifying me of my scores and whether or not I made the grade. If I did well, I will be set up for an interview. Interviews will be held around the first week or so of November. There will be an orientation in November and December. Classes begin January 2, 2007.
